Simon Quick was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1966. He graduated in Furniture Design from Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1987 and first gained furniture industry experience through an RSA Design Bursary he won as a student. He subsequently went onto work for DBD, a multidisciplinary design consultancy in the UK, before relocating to Milan where he collaborated with the Architect Davide Mercatali on a wide range of furniture and sanitaryware products.
He is currently based in London, where from 1997 he has been working as a Product and Interior Designer. His interior design projects specialise in giving a modern edge to the conversion of period designed properties and have included both offices and private houses while in Italy he has worked for Manital and Felicerossi. A constant thread throughout his work is a desire to experiment with challenging ideas where the concern for practical and commercial aspects is always critical. No compromise however, is shown in a total dedication to beauty
